Support

RescueTag is a non-profit, community-friendly project

Why support at all?

RescueTag is not a classic “open-source” project, but everyone can get involved and/or make their own RescueTag. Development, maintenance, documentation, as well as material and operating costs require time and resources.

What the project has cost me so far (example)

To give you an idea of what this project has cost me so far (excluding working time):

  • Apple Mac Mini M2 – 900 euros (for development & testing)
  • iPhone 14 refurbished – 330 euros (for development & testing)
  • Google developer account – 25 euros (Google Play Store)
  • Apple developer account – 100 euros per year
  • Filament for pendants – approx. 60 euros
  • Small materials (NFC tags, glue, etc.) – 10 euros
Total (approx.): 1,400 euros :-)

Donations are, of course, completely voluntary — feel free to use RescueTag even without supporting it. If you would still like to support my work, you can choose one of the following two options:

Option 1: PayPal

If you like, you can support via PayPal:

  • To: michael.marre@web.de
  • Purpose: Donation for RescueTag
  • Payment type: Select “Send money to friends”

Note: If the purpose does not contain “Donation for RescueTag” or a different payment type is selected, I unfortunately have to refund the payment.

Option 2: Bitcoin

Alternatively, you can also donate via Bitcoin:

Please double-check the address carefully before sending a transaction.

Other ways to help

  • Share RescueTag with friends and family
  • Provide feedback, report bugs, and suggest improvements
  • Build your own RescueTag and share your experience

Transparency & voluntariness

Donations are an optional thank-you — no obligation, no paywall. Every contribution, large or small, helps to further develop the project and cover material costs.
